This permanent visa lets you move to Australia to care for someone with a long-term medical condition who does not have reasonable access to care options in Australia.
This visa grants you the following privileges:
To stay in Australia indefinitely.
To work and study in Australia.
The option to enrol in Medicare, Australia’s public healthcare scheme.
To sponsor your relatives to come to Australia.
To travel to and from Australia for 5 years.
To apply for Australian citizenship, if eligible.
The person you care for must be your Australian relative or a relative’s family member who needs care and lives with them.
You can apply for this visa if you meet the following criteria:
Be a carer, willing and able to provide ongoing substantial care to your Australian relative or their family member with medical needs.
Have a sponsor, and the sponsorship must be approved.
Meet the health requirement, along with any family members applying for the visa.
Meet the character requirement, including family members aged 16 years and over who are applying for the visa.
Have paid back any debts owed to the Australian Government or have a formal arrangement in place.
Not have had a visa cancelled or a previous application refused.
Sign the Australian values statement if you are 18 years of age or older, confirming your commitment to respect the Australian way of life and obey Australian laws.
Considered to be in the best interests of any applicant under 18.
