This temporary visa lets a parent of a settled Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen stay temporarily in Australia.
This visa grants you the following privileges:
- You can live in Australia for up to 2 years.
- You can work and study in Australia; however, government support will not be provided.
- You can enrol in Medicare, Australia’s public healthcare scheme.
- You may apply for a permanent Contributory Parent visa (subclass 143).
