Confirmatory (Residence) Visa

This visa includes the following criteria:

1. If you held a temporary entry permit (TEP), general entry permit (GEP), or unrestricted entry permit (UEP) under the repealed Norfolk Island Immigration Act 1980 on June 30, 2016, or were ordinarily resident in Norfolk Island with a UEP at that time, you may be eligible for this visa. 
   1. Dependent children born outside Norfolk Island on or before June 30, 2016, may apply if they were dependent on a parent with a TEP, GEP, or UEP, or a UEP holder ordinarily residing in Norfolk Island. 
   2. Additionally, dependent children born in Australia on or after July 1, 2016, may apply if their parent held the permits mentioned above or a UEP, and they submit a combined application with their parent.
2. You must have been lawfully present in Norfolk Island or elsewhere in Australia for at least 5 of the 7 years immediately before you apply for this visa. You might be asked to provide evidence of how long you have lived in Norfolk Island or elsewhere in Australia.
3. You must meet certain character requirements.
4. Health exams may be required, and notification will be provided accordingly.
   1. Provisional Resident Return (Subclass 159) visa holders who previously met the health standard for a permanent visa might not require new health exams; notification will be provided if necessary. 
   2. All other applicants, including children born to Subclass 159 visa holders in Australia, will be informed if health exams are needed.
5. Your immigration history is considered, and you may be ineligible if you had a visa cancelled or a previous application refused.
