This visa may be right for you if you:
- Have a medical treatment plan or medical consultation in Australia
- Are going to donate an organ to someone
- Are coming with a patient or organ donor who is applying for this visa
- Are going to receive an organ from someone who travels to Australia with you
- Are in Australia, and you are 50 years of age or older, and you have been refused a permanent visa on health grounds only
In addition to the above criteria, you must:
- Satisfy certain financial, health and character requirements
- Not have a medical condition that could be a threat to public health in Australia
Financial Requirements
To be granted this visa, you must prove that you have:
- Made arrangements for the payment of your medical treatment;
- Sufficient funds to pay for your cost of living while you are in Australia
- Sufficient funds to pay for the cost of you and anyone else who comes with you to Australia (e.g. an organ donor)
If you are being treated in a public hospital, you must obtain confirmation from the hospital that adequate payment arrangements have been made and your treatment will not prejudice access to medical care for Australians.
