The ADC offers Skills Assessments for dental professionals planning to migrate to Australia.

The Australian Dental Council (ADC) serves as the independent accreditation authority for dental professions in Australia, dedicated to upholding rigorous standards to ensure the health and safety of the public.

Skills Assessments

If you are planning to migrate to Australia and require a skills assessment, the Australian Dental Council (ADC) offers two categories for dental professional assessments.

Skills Assessment Only

  • Registered to practise in New Zealand,
  • Hold an eligible general dental qualification from the UK, Republic of Ireland, or New Zealand,
  • Possess an eligible general dental qualification from Canada (certified by the National Dental Examination Board of Canada) after March 2010, or
  • Completed a general dental qualification in Australia.

More information on eligible dental qualifications is available on the Dental Board of Australia website.

Registration and Skills Assessment

  • For overseas qualified dentists seeking registration in Australia.
  • Involves the dental practitioner assessment process, including written and practical examinations.

Additional information on pathways to registration can be found on the Dental Board of Australia website.

Note: If unsure about the necessity of a skills assessment for your migration application, it is advisable to contact the Department of Home Affairs.
