ANMAC Skills Assessment for Nursing Professionals

Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC)

Table of Contents

ANMAC's skill assessment verifies the qualifications and capabilities of nurses, midwives, and carers intending to migrate to Australia.

ANMAC serves as the authorised independent assessing body for nurses, midwives, and aged care workers applying for Australian migration. Approved by the Department of Home Affairs, ANMAC ensures compliance with standards set by the General Skilled Migration program and the Aged Care Industry Labour Agreement.

Application Options

Nursing & Midwifery Skills Assessment

This assessment encompasses the ANZSCO occupations of Nurse, Enrolled Nurse, and Midwife.

  1. Modified Skills Assessment is designed for individuals with current registration as a nurse or midwife in Australia or New Zealand.
  2. Modified PLUS Skills Assessment applies to those holding a current 'Notice of in-principle approval of registration subject to proof of identity' from the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra).
  3. Full Skills Assessment is intended for applicants with current registration in a country other than Australia or New Zealand.
  4. Migration agents seeking information about ANMAC's skills assessments can also utilise this category.

Direct Care Skills Assessment

This assessment includes occupations such as Nursing Support Officer ANZSCO 423312 and Personal Care Worker ANZSCO 423313.

Note: While these assessments do not guarantee job placement in Australia or ensure migration, they serve as a crucial step in the process. For employment opportunities, individuals are advised to refer to the list of employers on the Department of Home Affairs website and explore organisations that have signed an aged care industry labour agreement.

Skills Assessment Process Overview

The ANMAC Skills Assessment process typically involves a waiting period of approximately 5-6 weeks from the online application submission to the commencement of the assessment. It is crucial to ensure the correct documentation is uploaded promptly to avoid any delays in the assessment process.

Important Points:

  1. ANMAC does not provide a priority service, and applications are assessed in the order of their submission dates.
