Visa Pathways

The Global Talent visa is designed for exceptional global talent and is structured with two distinct pathways:

  1. Global Talent Pathway:
    1. Offers priority processing for highly skilled applicants who possess an internationally recognised record of exceptional achievements in sectors defined by the Minister.
    2. Applicants should either currently earn, or are anticipated to earn, at the Fair Work High Income Threshold.
    3. Before applying for this pathway, applicants need to submit an Expression of Interest, outlining their qualifications for priority processing. Successful submissions will receive a unique reference and identifier, crucial for a subsequent Global Talent (subclass 858) visa application.
    4. Further details about the Global Talent pathway, including Expression of Interest requirements and the submission process, are available at EOI requirements.
  2. Distinguished Talent Pathway:
    1. Tailored for extremely talented individuals with an internationally recognised record of exceptional achievements in professions, sports, the arts, or academia and research, excluding sectors defined by the Minister.
    2. Unlike the Global Talent pathway, no Expression of Interest is required for this pathway.
  1.

Applicants have the option to apply for both the Global Talent and Distinguished Talent pathways online through their ImmiAccount.

Inclusion of Other Family Members

When applying for this visa, you have the option to include members of your family unit. You have the option to include them when you submit your visa application or add them afterwards, but it must be done before the decision is made.

Key points to know:

  1. If you are under 18 years old, you are limited to including your parents and the family unit of that parent.
  2. All family members included in the visa application must satisfy the health and character requirements, irrespective of whether they plan to accompany you to Australia.
  3. In the case your partner or dependent children are not part of this application, you must provide the reason for their exclusion.
